A Program for Seniors with Developmental Disabilities
developed by Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd.
The
Seniors Integration Program was planned to offer
an opportunity for gradual progression from work
to retirement, and from home to nursing home for
aging Cosmo participants (Seniors) whose age was
inhibiting their full participation in regular
Cosmo programs for adults.

Cosmo
continues to develop and use Program Plans
for its recreation, life skills, daily living
skills . . . . programs/activities. These
are reportedly a great asset to direct support
workers, new and old.
Through
this project Cosmo developed a continuum of recreational
opportunities, from segregated in-house activities,
through partially integrated outings and group
integration, to independent involvement of Seniors
in community groups and agencies. By developing
a continuum of recreational opportunities, they
are able to help prepare the participants for
a successful retirement when they no longer choose
to attend the vocational facility.
