Teach Me to Talk

Many individuals have a difficult time learning to speak. Some will need to hear the sound over and over before they can produce the word. Others may need a reinforcer to engage their interest before they can listen to the word. Some need real pictures while others will need augmentative communication devices.
There are four activities:

  • The first activity, "Teach Me To Talk" is used as a springboard for the individual to learn to speak the word. There are 150 real pictures. When the picture is chosen, it appears on a clear background with musical interludes, movement, written word and spoken word. It culminates by morphing to the corresponding black and white Mayer-Johnson Symbols.
  • The second activity, "Story Time" takes some of these nouns and puts them in four line poetry. This helps the individual hear the word in the midst of a sentence structure. It also works on the auditory discrimination skills.
  • The third activity, "Puzzles" makes 100 puzzles, Choices of 2, 3,4,8, or 16 pieces are available.
  • The fourth activity, "Switch-on-picts" is for the individual with severe disabilities. It allows them to hit a switch and have a picture appear, along with the options of movement and music.

This software works with a mouse, single switch, touch screen, and IntelliKeys keyboard.

This program is recommended for any individual who is having trouble talking whether it be toddlers, a student with autism or adults in vocational rehabilitation. Being used for adults with more severe developmental disabilities.
