Brain Injury Basics has been developed by the Edmonton Brain Injury Relearning Society. The manual provides information on how to effectively support an individual with a brain injury in community based rehabilitation. Brain Injury Basics stresses the importance of developing individualized strategies that fit the person, the environment he/she is involved in, and the activities the individual finds meaningful. The three sections of the manual: "Brain Basics" include basic information on the types and effects of injury to the brain as well as some general strategies; within the "Toolbox for the Community" section you are provided with more specific strategies and tools for community based rehabilitation; while the "Community Networks" section addresses the development of the community as a partner in the rehabilitation process.
