The Transitions Curriculum*

The Transitions Curriculum will give students/young adults the skills they need to make a successful transition from school to work to adulthood.
The Transitions Curriculum has three parts. Each volume deals with an areas of competency critical to independent living. Transitions lessons are filled with relevant, highly motivating hands-on activities. The topics and activities presented in each lesson are relevant to the real-world orientation of young adults today. Three separate volumes:

  • Volume 1 - Personal Management: get a plan.
  • Volume 2 - Career Management: get a job.
  • Volume 3 - Life Management: get a life.

Transitions will teach students not just how to get a job . . . it will teach them how to get a life.
More than 300 detailed lessons are provided, complete with reproducibles handouts, objectives, relevancy statements, student journal updates, individuals and group activities, evaluations, key vocabulary word, materials and preparation sections, core subject crossovers and SCANs Foundation Skills references. 600 reproducible handouts are included. A training video is provided. As well includes IEP meeting preparation materials.

Written for US system, some material will need to be adapted if used in Canada.
Training video provides suggestions on how to adapt material for individuals requiring more support.
