Augmentative and Alternative Communication is an overview of what is meant by augmentative and alternative communication, and what needs to be considered when developing an augmentative and alternative communication system for an individual.

In the April, 2001 edition, the 'Share Your Success Story' told how IntelliKeys was used to assist residents of a Colorado nursing home use a computer. Recipes for Success are resource guides to hundreds of practical applications for assistive technology.

Remnant Books is used to help initiate conversation topics about recent past events. It is a collection of scraps gathered from the person's recent past, that represents their participation in, or experience of a recent activity. The books are used to promote conversation. A description of how to develop one is included.

Remnant/Experience/Topic-Setter Books is a book which is made for and contains the person's own news and events. It incorporates remnants and memorabilia of news and/or events of the person's daily activities. A description of how to develop one is included.

The Role of a Communication Advocate it is helpful to appoint one person to assist the user maintain their augmentative techniques and make them part of their life. The role of the Communication Advocate is described in this section.
