Self Planning Making Choices As We Age: A Peer Training Program is a curriculum for training persons with disabilities and their co-trainers how to teach other adults with developmental disabilities about: choice making, rights and responsibilities, how to make healthy choices, and about things to do in their free time. Making Choices for Community Living - A Guide for Self-Planning was developed by the Windsor Community Living Support Services to assist self-advocates to plan and make decisions about living in the community. Making Choices focuses on identifying and developing a support network of people who will assist the individual to make their plan a reality and assist them to take their rightful place in the community. Three work plans are included to assist a self-advocate/planning team through the process. Person-Centered Planning for Later Life - A Curriculum for Adults with Mental Retardation enables adults to actively plan for their later years by teaching concepts and choice making skills. The 20-week training, which includes a student notebook, provides classroom and community experiences for making choices regarding healthy aging, free-time activities, work and retirement, and improving living arrangements. Person-Centered Planning for Later Life: Death and Dying - A Curriculum for Adults with Mental Retardation helps adults with developmental disabilities understand death, dying, and loss. The curriculum emphasize active participation through both verbal and visual presentation of materials. Safe and Secure Six Steps to Creating A Personal Future Plan for People with Disabilities is a six-step process families can follow to create a safe, secure, and pleasant future for their family member with disabilities. This book is designed to allow families to be informed consumers of the professional services that are available in the future planning industry.
