ReDiscovering MAPS: Charting Your Journey
by Jack Pearpoint, Marsha Forest & John O'Brien with David Hasbury

After 15 years of MAPS experiences, Marsha Forest, John O'Brien and Jack Pearpoint return to 'rediscover' the power and beauty of the MAPS process.
In this video, segments of two MAPS processes are used to provide support and instruction to people concerned with excellence and integrity in person centered planning processes.
One MAP was facilitated by Marsha and Jack and a second was facilitated by David Hasbury and Megan Schopf. John O'Brien provides thoughtful commentary to this powerful update of the MAPS process - by its founders.
A book is in preparation to complement the video.
A great deal has been learned about MAPS as a process since it was created in the mid 80's. This video demonstrates and comments on some of the lessons so all of us can be better at creating a safe 'space' for people and families to tell their stories - and move into action. If you have been doing - or about to do a MAP, this video is 'required viewing' and the book should be assigned reading. We are taking people's lives in our hands. We need to honour their stories by being the best facilitators (listeners) we can be. This video will help us do that.
(This tape was made in the last six months of Marsha Forest's life. It is a tribute to Marsha - and part of the commitment that her work will continue.)
